Linita Hawkins is a remarkable woman whose life is a blend of dedication, passion, and entrepreneurship. With a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in American History from UCLA, Linita devoted 30 years to public education, enriching the lives of countless elementary students in the Jurupa Unified School District. Her commitment to education was unwavering, and her love for teaching was evident throughout her career.
But Linita’s journey doesn’t end with her retirement from education. A true entrepreneur at heart, she founded LovelyLocs Natural Hair Care Products™ and owns an exclusive six-station salon in Moreno Valley, California. Her passion for natural beauty and hair care led her to author two books: “Loc Life: Lifestyles of the Loc’d and Lovely!” and “Loc Life: Lifestyles of Tenacious Men,” further establishing her as a voice of authority in the world of natural hair care.
From a young age, Linita was drawn to entrepreneurship. Whether it was running a cleaning business, selling ice cream, babysitting, or offering seamstress services, she always found ways to turn her passions into profit. Her early experiences selling Avon products and Cookie Lee Jewelry laid the foundation for her later ventures in the beauty and wellness industry.
Born in North Carolina and raised in Los Angeles, Linita is the second of four children. Even as a child, she was known for her love of glamour and style, earning the nickname “Hollywood” from her family. Her early fascination with fashion and beauty was nurtured when she attended modeling school as a teenager, deepening her appreciation for makeup, hair, and personal style.
Linita’s faith has been a guiding force in her life. At the age of 18, she married to preserve her Christian virtues and went on to raise two children, Natalie and Brandon Simmons, in the Inland Empire. Her journey into the world of natural hair care began in 2000 when she became a Sisterlocks™ Consultant. As her own hair flourished in its natural state, she discovered a new level of confidence and a deep connection with her clients. Each hair-tightening session became a time of shared growth, inspiration, and healing.
Today, Linita continues to inspire others through her work at LovelyLoc Natural Hair Care Products™. Her mission is to educate and empower people to embrace their natural beauty using organic, garden-based ingredients.
